Republicans say hurricane won't stop budget cuts

Via Reuters:

Republicans in Congress on Wednesday rejected calls by Democrats to suspend work on tax cuts, that would mainly benefit the rich, and spending reductions on social programs because of the huge costs of hurricane relief.

"Now is not the time to cut services for our most vulnerable, cut taxes for our most fortunate and add $35 billion to the deficit," the Democratic leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives said in a letter to their Republican counterparts.

Congressional committees face a September 16 deadline to come up with $35 billion in spending reductions over five years to programs including the Medicaid health-care program for the poor, student loans, food stamps and pension insurance.

The committees are also scheduled to approve $70 billion in tax cuts this month. The cuts could be extensions of reductions on capital gains and dividends, which affect mainly the incomes of the wealthy.

My normal response would be rage and/or frustration. But now, I JUST DON'T GET IT.

Geez, make up your mind

One day, they're fuming about "activist judges" and "unelected institutions" deciding on oh-so-important issues like two guys (or two girls) getting married. And the next day, the Governor of Cah-lee-fuh-nee-uh is saying that the courts should decide. MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND, anti-marriage-equality neocons!

PC?

Political correctness is stupid. If I could be elected to a position of prominence I would abuse my power liberally. Creationists, fuck you, ID advocates, fuck you, anti-evolutionists of any sort, fuck you, anti-gay fundies, pro-gay rainbow shirts, fuck you both, "pro-life" bullshitters teenage sluts that want abortions, fuck you both, anyone who wants to ban books of any sort, fuck you. Fuck everyone that disagrees with me, because I am always right and you are wrong. Government for and by the people fails miserably when the people don't know what the fuck they're talking about; I'm here to set that straight.

All biology books will contain a sticker that says, "If you believe in intelligent design or creationism, please turn to page 1057", and on page 1057 there is a fat pile of bullshit with the caption "ID/Creationism". Ever heard of Occam's Razor? The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Right, so if ID is intelligent design, and the random nature of evolution makes it stupid design, because really how stupid do you have to be to make mosquitos to pester the humans, which one is simpler? Evolution wins, QED. Gay rights activists will be shackled to the fundie hecklers opposing them just so they both shut up and stop making me care about what goes on in their beds. Heck, why stop at that? Why have special ed classes? We should stop making excuses for them "oh, poor jonny has ADD" and try to shape them up. What's the point in telling a room full of retards that everything they do is ok and that they are wonderful human beings? They should still know what's ok and what's not ok in order to be part of the civilization that feeds them.

Sure, it'd be a pain in the ass to get reelected, but just look at my successor's face as he tries to undo everything i've done. ACLU will fight him every step of the way when he tries to undo anything, because thats just the way those extremely liberal lawyers are.
