Sundays will never be the same.

A point of personal privilege to stray away from the gaffes, the smears, the petty discourse and bring to stunning realization that the major politicos and journalists of our time are -- in all respects -- human.

This afternoon, at the young age of 58, Tim Russert (of NBC's "Meet the Press") passed away in an apparent heart attack.

He was one of the last respectable figures in the American media. His tough, no-nonsense style has led members from all hues on the political spectrum to regard him as one of the best reporters in Washington. He had an unparalleled level of influence in the Beltway; a class act all throughout.

Even those of us that have lost faith in the media recognize the value of his work. No other person will be able to fill his shoes. Sundays will never be the same.

May he rest in peace.
