How College Board = Government

I think Victor described it very eloquently (and I use the term rather loosely) in his Xanga.

But this was what was going through MY head after (and during, actually) the test.

1. Screw the poor
College Board sells the tests online.
They also sell the prep books, calling them (the official guide to the SATs).
The test thus inherently favors the people wealthy enough to be able to afford the prep material.
So obviously it's like the government in that aspect.

2. The bigger the better
Think about the government bureacracy.
Then think of the number of procters and graders hired nationwide to accomodate the test takers.
The test prep industry is dominated by huge publishing companies like Barrons, Princeton Review and College Board itself.

3. Big Brother
Admit it, high school juniors of the world. For at least a significant part of this past week, SAT's controlled your world. Politics, believe it or not, controls your world. They tell you that you may not marry people of the same sex, that people don't have the right to chose not to be forever dependent on life support, and that women- raped or possibly expecting a fatal pregnancy- should not get an abortion.

And, most importantly...

Rape the future generation. Traumatize them. Disillusion them. Anything to make sure that we wild kids don't start thinking too progressively.
