This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever read.
Close second.

Backhanded

I think that war movement Christie wants is definitely picking up pace. Cindy Sheehan and three hundred seventy others were arrested for illegally protesting in front of the white house without a permit. The arrested will be issued fines.
That's pretty much the article. If this continues and people keep committing misdemeanors as a form of protest, I think Bush might have to address it. Whether or not a movement will actually materialize is a different matter. If I had to make a prediction, I would say that not enough people are willing to pick up on this to really make a peace movement occur. But still, this is definitely an improvement for the people who oppose the war on Iraq.

What Bush wants to do about oil...

from Washington Post:

President Bush, saying "gas prices are on our mind," said today the government is again prepared to tap into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to alleviate any gas shortages caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

He called on Americans to "pitch in" and conserve gas by reducing non-essential travel, teaming up in carpools and using mass transit. [......]

"We're paying close attention to the markets," Bush said. "We're willing to use the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. A lot of our production comes from the Gulf and when you have a Hurricane Katrina followed by a Hurricane Rita, it's natural, unfortunately, that it's going to affect supplies."

You know, when I read that one statement (bolded by me) I had a different "Gulf" in mind...
