More Olympics...

Browse through this blog and you'll see bits and pieces of my love for my native country. How could I not? It's got great cities, famous entertainment industry (*cough - Victor's Hyori obsession - cough*), and fabulous food (though everybody is bound to think so about his/her own native cuisine).

But anyway, I shall just say that it gives me much pleasure to note that the WINNER of the Men's 1500 m Short Track in 2006 Torino Games is Hyun-Soo Ahn of Korea. Oh, and to sweeten that victory, the silver medal went to Ho-Suk Lee of Korea. Oh, American sportscasters and Ohno fans can whine all they want about how illegit the sport is if their star athlete is disqualified because of one fall. Well, Ohno's name is a four-letter word in Korea, thanks to the incident in the SAME event in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics when a Korean skater was disqualified after finishing ahead of Ohno.

But who really cares. The only event anybody ever watches is figure skating anyway. Gah, I heard about that Chinese pairs skaters who tried a quad and then the girl crashed into the boards. OUCH. But then she got up and was back on the ice a few minutes later. THAT's sportsmanship. Or sportswomanship.
