You know, if all else fails... If the Democrats blow 2006 and even 2008... I say we all give up, procreate like rabbits, and indoctrinate the future generation.

Love the entry. It's an interesting proposal, but it certainly could backfire.

Take a look at the baby boom generation--the most recent time we had a mass procreation effort going in this country. National hot-button issues have followed the interests of this generation ever since its creation.

In the late 60s and early 70s, when most of the generation got to adulthood, we had the sexual revolution and the Vietnam protests--because they wanted to be free to do whatever they wanted and not get drafted.

In the 80s, as the generation grew up, became professional and worried more about finances, lower taxes and Reaganism became the appealing themes of the day.

In the past 10 years, as the children of the baby boomers started reaching teenagerdom and college, we see, not coincidentally, the rise of the moral conservative movement--one of whose direct efforts is to prevent young people from doing what the baby boomers themselves fought so hard for the right to do back when they were young.

The first of the baby-boomers just hit 60 this year--so you can bet that over the next 10 years, retirement funding will become one of the dominant movements in this country.

I don't think the politics of vitriol will end until the biggest "me-first" generation the world has ever seen is no longer a viable political force. So my conclusion is that as much as it would please me to find some smart, cute liberal girl to procreate with on a prolific basis and then indoctrinate the progeny, it might not be the best way to take over the country.

Let the deliberations continue.

Kind of scary. Also, I went to a concert today--Nadia Salerno-Sonnenberg performing Shostakovich's 1st violin concerto. Quite a treat.
