A closet door was destroyed today.

As Christie rambled on about intolerant folk and those all too willing to play the victim, the California Supreme Court released this statement regarding one of the most pressing civil rights issues of our time:
With that, the high court ruled 4-3 to strike down the ban on same-sex marriages. Schwarzenegger has already agreed to fight off a possible initiative to reinstate the ban. Pelosi said just as much, commending the San Francisco plaintiffs for their courage and commitment to the fight.
This is a landmark decision, and aspiring lawyers should read the opinion to understand how this will impact how sexual orientation under the equal protection clause is evaluated in the future.
Shithole? What shithole? Things may not be perfect . . . but you've got to admit, it's getting better.
As Christie rambled on about intolerant folk and those all too willing to play the victim, the California Supreme Court released this statement regarding one of the most pressing civil rights issues of our time:
"...in contrast to earlier times, our state now recognizes that an individual’s capacity to establish a loving and long-term committed relationship with another person and responsibly to care for and raise children does not depend upon the individual’s sexual orientation, and, more generally, that an individual’s sexual orientation — like a person’s race or gender — does not constitute a legitimate basis upon which to deny or withhold legal rights. We therefore conclude that in view of the substance and significance of the fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship, the California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right to all Californians, whether gay or heterosexual, and to same-sex couples as well as to opposite-sex couples."

I believe, and I think you'll agree, that there's a clear difference between "America" and "California," the former being a SHITHOLE and the latter doing its best to not be one.
Hah. Indeed, I do. I'm just doing my best to lift up the spirits.
Am I the only one on here that doesn't actually agree with this decision?
Quite possibly. Go ahead and post why you feel as such -- I'm interested in hearing it.
