How *not* to apologize.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the tragic assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. In a speech given by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), he apologized for exercising poor judgement when he voted against a holiday honoring Dr. King in 1983.

Unsurprisingly, the audience was not receptive of this revelation. The clip of the apology is embedded below:

What amazes me, however, is not the fact that the audence was booing. Rather, do you happen to recognize the area in which Sen. McCain is speaking from?

That's right: The Lorraine Motel. You know, where MLK Jr. was assassinated? McCain is actually standing below the balcony where Dr. King was shot.

Evidently, his sense of judgement has yet to improve.
