The calm before the storm...

is now.

It's time for the Dems to step up to the plate...when Clinton's whitewater broke, the Republicans got Starr all over him. Why isn't there an independent counsel yet?

When the Justice Department ordered the investigation on how the information leaked as opposed to the information itself, I thought to myself that the world had gone crazy. But finally, it looks like something's going to get interesting...If things go as they should, this will be the highlight of his presidency that is remembered, not his blundering in Iraq.

Keep watching.

Actually, blundering with decisions as commaner-in-chief is unacceptable but compromising our civil liberties is also terrible. I personally want him to be remembered for his recklessness before/during the Iraq war.

The world hasn't gone crazy because the Justice Department is investigating who leaked it, as opposed to the information. The Justice Department had to approve the whole program in the first place. Remember that the Justice Department is part of the Executive branch, and the Attorney General is nominated by the President.

The difference between Clinton and Bush lies entirely in the majority in Congress. I guarantee you that if we get the majority in Congress back, we'll be able to start some similar investigations/independent counsels--remember that Fitzmas is a direct result of a request by the CIA. The only difficulty will be preventing document destruction in the wake of the 2006 midterms.
