Political tool

I'm not even sure how much of a grieving mother she is. She's just another politician trying to advance her own goals. She even established her own antiwar organization, the Gold Star Families for Peace. Definitely not a greaving mother, just an anti-war protester who is taking advantage of her own son's death to raise publicity about the war. What kind of grieving mother would launch all this hocus pocus about her dead son. Seriously, it seems unnecessary to me. This protest won't bring her son back to life; it only makes it so her son died in vain, and it sure as hell won't honor his memory. Even other familiy members say so:

Though Sheehan's protest has galvanized support among antiwar activists, it has divided parts of her own family, some of whom sent an e-mail to news organizations distancing themselves from her protest.

"We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son's good name and reputation," said an e-mail sent to the Reporter newspaper, in Vacaville. The e-mail was signed by Casey Sheehan's aunt Cherie Quartarolo on behalf of his paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Disgraceful. I say stop the politicization. Either go weep for your son, or protest the war without using him as a tool for your own agenda.
Her "mission" of getting a meeting with President Bush is so off track that even if a meeting were arranged, she would forget what she wants to say about her son. All she would do is further bash this war on "terrorism".

To President Bush, I say have a meeting with her. The public's attention for a "weeping mom" is getting out of hand. I prefer straight up politics about public issues, not about some weeping old hag who is a side casualty. End this fiasco so that we democrats can actually concentrate on attacking your dirt economy or war as a whole. Shut up the old hag and go on ruining our relationships with foreign nations.

To Sheehan: I have a cup for you. Do you know what is in the cup? Some STFU. Your son's loss of life is regrettable, but I think issues like Iran, North Korea, Terrorists, and Unemployment clearly outweigh whatever motives you have.

If I ever die in war, the least the rest of America can do is make sure we win it so that it wasn't a waste.

[Edit: Even her husband can't stand her]

[Edit: Let us hope she gets a call from the IRS Audit Team]

I have to disagree. I think some of the arguments made on her behalf are flawed (as most arguments are these days) but I can't help but feel protective over her when Limbaugh & Co. start saying some awful things about her. Then again, maybe you're right. I've been completely, thoroughly, entirely cut off from civilization for a week, so I have no idea what the hell went on in general for the last week or so...

And, Hi justin.
