No End in Sight

We will settle for nothing less than victory [over the insurgents.]
- Bush
Insurgencies tend to go on five, six, eight, 10, 12 years. Coalition forces, foreign forces, are not going to repress that insurgency. We're going to create an environment that the Iraqi people and the Iraqi security forces can win against that insurgency.
- Rumsfield
It just seems to me that the Administration is setting up a long-term war and prepping the public for it so that they'll be ready. All this talk about not giving out a timetable to encourage terrorism, while it has some merit, seems too shady. With the Army recruitment numbers falling, and Bush having really nothing to lose being a second-termer...I'm worried.
